Copper laps can produce a good polish on a wide range of materials including both hard and soft stones. They are well known to produce the a good polish in amethyst but some cutters also use them to polish corundum.
The versatile laps are relatively easy to use and can be scored with a sharp knife or a hacksaw blade.
Available in 6 inch diameter only, the standard arbor size is 1/2” to support most faceting machines. Other arbor sizes are available by request. |
