The pen light is a battery operated portable light source useful tool for gemstone buying. Held from the side it highlights inclusions helping dealers to buy better.
It is also useful as an incandescent light source to see color change in stones like alexandrite and color change garnet and as a spotlight to view asterism and chatoyancy in star stones and catseyes.
