Some cutters like the softer tin lap for polishing large facets or for working with softer materials. Tin laps are ideal for beginners because they are easy to use and produce a good polish without scratches.

Other laps are preferable where flatter facets and sharper facet junctions are desirable but tin laps are the easiest to use and can be scored with a sharp knife or a hacksaw blade.

Available in 6 inch diameter only, the standard arbor size is 1/2” to support most faceting machines. Other arbor sizes are available by request.
